Job Opportunities in Dubai for Motorcycle Riders from Malindi, Watamu, and Kilifi

WATAMU, Kenya – In a significant employment drive, officials from a United Arab Emirates company are conducting interviews and hiring motorcycle riders at Watamu Primary School today and tomorrow, Saturday, December 14, 2024. The initiative offers a promising opportunity for 600 riders from Malindi, Watamu, and Kilifi to secure well-paying jobs in Dubai.
The positions available are for motorcycle riders, with a total of 600 slots open. The qualifications required include a Kenyan passport or a completed e-citizen application, the latest certificate of good conduct, and a rider’s license. While prior experience is not mandatory, it is highly advantageous, and bodaboda riders are especially encouraged to apply. The company will provide a four-month training program in Dubai to help the hired riders obtain UAE licenses.
Job Package and Benefits
Successful candidates will earn 7.5 dirhams per delivery trip, with an average of at least 15 trips per day. This translates to 112.5 dirhams daily and approximately 2,925 dirhams (around Ksh 104,000) monthly, tax-free. Ambitious riders can increase their earnings by completing more than 30 deliveries daily. Additionally, the package includes free accommodation, a company-provided and maintained motorcycle, comprehensive medical care, and a work visa.
Financial Requirements
Candidates must bear pre-arrival costs, which total Ksh 167,900. These include:
- Payment to the HR provider in Dubai: Dhs 2,200 (Ksh 81,400)
- Air ticket: Ksh 40,000
- Medical fee: Ksh 16,500
- Processing fees (visas, paperwork, etc.): Ksh 30,000
The non-refundable medical fee must be paid upfront. After passing the medicals, candidates can then pay the remaining charges. To assist with these expenses, aligned banks and youth funds are offering loans that candidates can repay once employed in Dubai.
Interview Sessions
The interviews are taking place at Watamu Primary School, Malindi, on Friday, December 13, and Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 8 AM to 5 PM. Ministry of Labour officials will be present to ensure ethical recruitment practices. Successful applicants should be ready to travel to Dubai before the end of the year.
Dr. Alfred N. Mutua, EGH, Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, encourages all interested hustlers, especially bodaboda riders, to seize this opportunity for a better future.
“Mbele iko Sawa,” Dr. Mutua added, highlighting the bright prospects for those who take this chance.
