Breakthrough in Langata Cemetery Murder Case: Prime Suspect Linked to Multiple Murders

Nairobi, Kenya – Detectives have made a significant breakthrough in the investigation of a gruesome murder case involving a mutilated body found at Langata Cemetery on October 31, 2024. The investigation has revealed shocking details linking Hashim Dagane Muhumed to the tragic murders of a mother, her daughter, and her 12-year-old niece.

The investigation commenced with the discovery of the victim’s body at Langata Cemetery, leading detectives to follow crucial exhibits recovered at the scene. Their efforts took them to a Quickmart supermarket within the city, where CCTV footage captured the victim shopping on October 29, 2024. The victim was later identified entering an apartment in Lavington, accompanied by Hashim Dagane, where they spent time together. On October 31, CCTV cameras captured Dagane leaving the apartment with two bags suspected to contain the victim’s remains.

The owner of the apartment, upon discovering the crime scene, attempted to clear the evidence by repainting the rooms and subsequently went into hiding. Law enforcement is actively searching for him, with the anticipation of bringing him to justice soon. The victim is believed to be Deka Abdinoor Gorone, who was reported missing on October 24, 2024. Forensic analysis is underway to confirm her identity.

In a related development, detectives have arrested another suspect, Jared Mong’are, who is believed to have been involved in the logistics of the crime. Mong’are, apprehended in Eldoret town, handled the payment transactions for the Lavington Valley Heights Apartment where the crime occurred and drove the suspects in a Toyota Vitz, which has been recovered and is under forensic examination.

Crucially, it has been established that Hashim Dagane was in possession of the victim’s mobile phone, using it to contact her family members. This led detectives back to Langata Cemetery, where they discovered the victim’s phone and clothing.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) continues to piece together evidence and is committed to ensuring justice for the victims. This breakthrough highlights the meticulous work of the detectives and their dedication to solving this and other criminal cases expeditiously.

For further updates, stay tuned as the investigation progresses, with authorities determined to bring all involved perpetrators to justice. Credits to DCI Kenya
